The Smiths
Free Trade Hall
14th November 1986

From City Life 65, Oct. ’86 .
Big interview with the singer from The Smiths , who are about to play The Free Trade Hall on 14th Nov. After returning from “a triumphant American tour and chart success with The Queen is Dead and ‘Panic’.”
The noteable quote , italicised under the Salford Lads’ Club photo: “if Prince came from Wigan he’d have been slaughtered by now....”; a picture on the next page shows him lying down with a banjo in his hand. You can't go in the red playing blue grass aparently.....
