It had become known as the Limit by this time, think this gig was with Napalm Nancy but we also played with the Tunnel Frenzies around this time. Before the whole Madchester thing kicked off, like someone said to me the other day we were doing all the ground work. The Limit had this wierd volume meter which seemed to keep going off, eventually the PA broke and the gig ground to a halt! Andrew and Andy in view, Ash and Martin obscured, possibly Simon from the Tunnel Frenzies on drums.

“The Tunnel Frenzies...Simon Hayden on drums?”

“Not sure of Simon's second name but most probably the one you know. Simon stood in for our drummer maybe twice but we played with the Frenzies around that time usually at the Swinging Sporran and practiced next door to them at the Beehive. Ash was our bass player another Frenzy!”

“I worked with Gary Foy , singer with Tunnel Frenzies in Whitworth St Manchester from 89 to about 97 with his brother Steve. I did a rehearsal with Gary, Jason Robards (?) On bass and another guy at The Boardwalk rehearsal rooms, must have been 91?. Ive still got their 12" EP. Believe it or not, I sold a smoky chrome Pearl export kit in 89 and it turned up at those rehearsal rooms, it still had my initials inside the bass drum!. We worked a minute walk from The Swinging sporran and I played there in the infamous gig in 89 drumming for Victory Mansions. I think Gary is living in Wigan now. Happy days, RIP Boardwalk and Thr Lamplighter, is this the same club as the lamplight, the former was next to the gas works opposite Rochdale college”
