The New Ardri
1984

From City Life, Sept. ’84. Student special.
Continuation of the last upload regarding clubs suitable for students, and probably a fairly comprehensive list of such venues round town in the mid ‘80’s, though I don’t see that “Waves” club on there, and by the sounds of it, it’s not surprising. Never did enter that portal, which was probably a good thing for my health; the craic sure must have been mighty though ‘cos the surrounds certainly sounded dodgy in the extreme. Sounds like it would have made the Old Conti look like the Taj Mahal by comparison....
New Ardri, premier home of "Gaelic Funk".Must have missed that. Sounds like some hybrid abomination along the lines of possible "Folk Disco"; a genre I've been waiting on for many a year.Hopefully, one day, there'll be some takers...
