Club HD is Manchester's newest club venue. It will open with a launch party on Saturday the 9th of April, featuring Pav Percussion, originally from Hed Kandi (a one man orchestra!) and Hussle residents Psyche & Freerunner on the decks playing tuff & dirty house til 5am (only £5 entry b4 midnight)!
Opening only recently after a refit, the venue is located on Whitworth Street West (just up from the Ritz) in central Manchester, and sports a unique design built into the arches with a balcony and 2 floors.
Paul Stacey and Nathan Carroll teamed up to create Club HD to bring back true music-led attitude-free clubbing to Manchester’s gay/mixed scene. Nathan’s playground was Paradise Factory and the infamous Manto Breakfast Club, having clubbed or worked in the best the northwest has to offer inc Federation, Speed Queen, Space, Stinkys etc. Paul Stacey is also owner of Showtech UK (
www.showtechuk.com), which provides sound and music equipment to performances and venues nationwide.
Club HD therefore has a state-of-the-art music and entertainment system with intelligent lighting and a full colour lazer. The interior is cool, minimalistic and industrial with a mezzanine lounge area and a dance area and balcony which perfectly feeds the energy in the venue between the DJs and he crowd. A brand new slick bar adds to the finished product.
Hussle, Sin:ergy & Toolbox are 3 major promotions over the last decade renowned for bringing a crowd from across the UK to their events. Jeremy Cozens will be promoting his house night hussle in Club HD every Saturday plus his classic hardhouse night Sin:ergy on Easter Sunday 24th April & the Spring Break Hol on 29th May. Nik Denton is promoting his Toolbox event on May Day Bank Holiday Sunday 1st May (for full line-ups see advert), pushing the boundaries with the best DJ talent and entertainment.
With a strict no-attitude policy which runs from staff through to customers, HD looks to attract a mix open minded clubbers of all ages with it's fresh image and intimate layout. The venue is steeped in clubbing history. It was an pioneering gay club in the early 80s, Archway inspired by London’s gay night Heaven before becoming leading indie venue The Brickhouse during the Madchester days. The venue owners & promoters alike are looking to put Arch 66 back on the clubbing map.
