Poster
The Hacienda
4th December 1986

In 1986 the sculptor David Mach was invited to create some sculptures in The Hacienda. He built a series of huge pillars made from New Order 12" sleeves (mostly Confusion sleeves I think).

The insatllation stayed for a while. When it finished I seem to remember walking down to Castlefield, next to the canal and seeing thousands of New Order sleeves floating on the canal (again, mostly Confusion sleeves)... Strange!

This poster is printed with silver, and unfortunately has been rather creased.

“It was actually Thieves Like Us as Factory over-ordered on it. The sleeves are rather similar in design though.”

“No, definitely Confusion. Well, at least I saw loads of Confusion sleeves, perhaps TLU sleeves were also used?”

“Could well be, Factory might have ordered too many of them too.”
