Another month, another sad death, another Bollox poster.
Our tribute to Frank Sidebottom who sadly passed away a few weeks before the Bollox event. We'd actually had a few run-ins with him in the past where we'd booked him to DJ and do work as a bar man but on both occasions he did a no show. We did threaten to use him as a human Pinata next time we bumbed into him... but you couldn't help loving Frank so all was forgiven.
For the night we got our designer Mark Evans to make five paper mache frank heads which people posed for photos in, danced in and eventually stole as momentos. We also donated a few hundred quid from the door takings to his funeral fund. We can be nice sometimes!
In the basement we hosted the George House Trust who were celebrating their 25th year of supporting people living with HIV in the North West. They pulled together a great cast of djs from clubs like Homoelectric and Black Angel. Good times.
