Poster
John Cooper Clarke, The Worst, The Fall, Roger Day
Stretford Civic Theatre
1977

Found in a local shop for local people..An amazing A3 size on hard card poster flyer for the one and only punk gig that went down in Stretford at the Civic Hall, thanks to Jonh Rylands for building the venue and The Worst with Steve ShyTalk..John Cooper Clarke and the Fall for doing the gig. I only went to the punk Discos towards the end of the 70's with my old mate Foggy and the Lostock punkers which I would like to thank for the free Karate lessons whilst doing the pogo to where have all the bootboys gone? happy days..MrMass!

“I was at this gig and if my memory serves me right it was infiltrated by a load of NF and it really kicked off. I have a recollection of a raised area (or possibly a balcony?) at the rear of the gig and they were throwing chairs and anything else they could get their hands on at the punk crowd, who then retaliated and a massive ruck ensued which brought the bands to a halt while order was restored!”

“I was Militant frank and still DJ on the northern soul scene today , yes there was a ruck with the NF , but it lasted a few minutes and I remember dodging a pint pot ! , great days while they lasted and
remember doing two gigs with the fall in the same day , the 1970s will never be repeated in more ways than one for me KTF”
