Just remember him being really bad tempered for this gig (as usual)

“this was a bloody awful gig - i'd seen all his previous mcr gigs and they were stunning - particularly the' i see a darkness' gig at the uni... you could hear a pin drop when he came on with his tiny little blue guitar (or was it a uke?)...
anyway i felt the b'water gig was embarrassing... totally the wrong venue, as i'm sorry to say i've often found it for gigs.
This gig wasn't helped by the fact that two hippy types came and sat infront of us. they appeared to be speeding as they talked through the first 6-7 or so songs whilst jigging excitedly in their chairs, stopping talking only to clap and enthusiastically cheer at the song they'd just talked through . luckily they then got up and walked out not to return. but the rest of the gig was flat, there was no atmosphere and will oldham seemed to not want to be there at all... a very disappointing night...
promoters need to be more aware of how gigs can be at the bridgewater - apart from the odd couple of gigs there, most don't work for me at all...
