From Breakout music paper July '85.Just thought I’d throw this one in as it kinda shows how things typically ran in the north west before the rise of D.J. culture , and although I don’t know who this D.J. fella Jules is/ was at his “premier fun pub” , it seems par for the course of how the buzz of records spread in lots of clubs. They would often first get an airing on the dancefloor, where you got educated , and then passed on by word of mouth, rather than hearing it first on radio; hence how clubs like Legends, The Ritz et al operated, and produced weekly playlists. I believe Southport is a real hub of Northern Souldom these days....
