Interesting article from “Uptown” music paper, Nov. ’88, on the conspicuous increase in affluence in Manchester in the late ‘80s reflected in more bars, clubs, most young ladies wearing fur coats...of course! etc., not that most folk saw the real benefit of any of it. Not so long after, it all came crashing down ; a case of déjà vu and a bit of global history repeating. Whatever happened to the good old 7 year boom and bust cycle you could set your watch to? I think after 60 years of examining the "exact" Laws and science of global economics, and expounding self-regulating banks (kids in a candy shop!), Mr. Greenspan and his ilk appear to be at a loss to explain, poor things.......Ah well, probably won't be too far in the future we'll be off doing it all over again. I believe the definition of insanity is when you keep doing the same thing over and over again with the same negative result... Sounds entirely feasible.....
