I’ve been trying to get back onto the site for a while now but that bloody work malarky keeps getting in the way. Whoever invented it wants shooting ....only if we’ve all gotten paid in full first though! As mentioned before I found another bag of stuff just before Christmas and I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry! The light at the end of the upload tunnel just seemed to fade into a distant glimmer again.... Anyways this batch seem to be mostly freebie music papers from the North West, presumably picked up from Virgin or H.M.V. I’m gonna give a brief summary of what might be relevant in them and use some subjective quality control on some uploads. I’ll also list bands even though I haven’t heard of most of ‘em but they might have been somebody’s moment of glory or morphed into bigger and better things; the devil’s in the detail as they say... I wonder if it’s the same “they” who say lots of other things as well.....? Just a thought....

This one called “buzzin’” from May ’87, and was apparently based in Stockport. Contains reviews of demos by Fallover 24, The Learning Process, Next Big Thing, Bell Goes Chime, The Legion, & 7 Shots....only ever heard of one of ‘em./ Live reviews of The Man From Delmonte, Raising Cain, Mambo Square, Safe For Now, The Tangle Factor, Tora....again, mostly unfamiliar to me./ A full page interview with WillumWozzumBullumBuzzum who, I didn’t know were from M/c. /A page of “What’s On” guide./ Big centrefold interview with The Roses./ Album reviews of Mondays “Squirrel and G Man....”, The Railway Children “Reunion Wilderness” and Swing Out Sister “It’s Better to Travel” album./ An article about The Waltones and some band called Belle Elmore....apparently sounded like a cross between Siouxsie, Big Country and Half Man Half Biscuit!?/ An article about Tora from Oldham / A review of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang ; a band put together by a geezer called Arthur Cadmon who apparently played in The Glee Club, Manicured Noise, Ludus, The Distractions, and The Fall..pretty impressive..../ Reviews of X Mal Deutschland at The International, Duran Duran at The Apollo, Stars of Heaven & The Mighty Lemon Drops at The Hac / An interview with Colourcode and Yargo/.

I’m listing this stuff as it’s not possible to upload a lot of it as it would be too big to scan properly and / or it’s too much to upload; however if it seems relevant or important in the great scheme of things to other interested persons I could upload selected parts; Knoworimean an’ ting?

Phew, looking at that, that's a shitload of bands, but they're all mentioned as being from Manchester so I suppose they should be up on the site even if some of them were only flash in the pans and fly by nights. They're all part of the big picture and pieces of the jigsaw puzzle and I'm sure they all have their own story....and so on and so forth.....

“It was Glee Company that Arthur Cadmon (or Cadman or Kadmon as he spelt it at various times) used to play in. If you have the article would you mind scanning and uploading it as I have never seen it, despite writing it.”

“I have a copy of this somewhere! Also the free Roses booklet given away in Melody Maker ( written by Bob Stanley)”
