Interview with Carole Truman about her time playing trumpet in women's bands Walking Home and Carp in the Dark in the 1980s. Here Carole explains how Walking Home, who has a strong lesbian feminist agenda, wanted to be the first 'out' lesbian band on Top of The Pops. They didn't quite make it that far, but did play the International 2 and support The Stone Roses.
Carole also talks about how lesbians and gay men, previously somewhat at odds, came together through The Hacienda and the fight against 'God's Cop', James Anderton.
Sadly, the tape of Walking Home couldn't be digitised.
