“Here & Now were (and still are) from London but they already existed on this site so I decided to add a Manchester related item.”

“Oh great!!! My efforts to add to the site have seen Here & Now deleted. Well done me. I did once see their drummer drinking a pint of Boddingtons,surely that makes them partly Mancunian.”

“That is unfair, why delete them? Surely that is a worthwhile artefact of a band who in their time made Manchester a part of their home, and as they are all travellers, they don't come from anywhere really, they just formed in the squats of London but they had a lot of connections with similar minded people up here and played many gigs here, and, the artefact is of a gig at a Manchester venue, seems relevant to me.”

“Why are the Charlatans on here? they are from Northwich? and there are loads of other bands on the list who aren't technically from Manchester either, not that I will name any because I don't support any purge or pogrom against them.”

“Hi Dave, Thanks for your comments. I think with a site like this you have to have some rules, otherwise it wouldn't be a site about Greater Manchester music in the end. The idea is that ANY band artefact can be added, provided it is linked to a Greater Manchester venue, ie this one is from The Witchwood. We can't get it right every time, I know, but I do my best to keep the site moderated and ticking over in a sensible way. If Here & Now were Manchester-based for a substantial part of their career, then they could legitimately stay in our list. Were they? If you have spotted other bands/artists that have have no connection with Greater Manchester, do let me know.”
