Finally found the clip of Sham on What's On, worth a look to see Mr Pursey make a prat of himself and blow his brains out with a water pistol as Tony Wilson looks on. Every now and then What's On would come up with a good band who were either playing in town that weekend or up and coming on the music scene.

“Nice bit of research .Haven't delved down youtube lane yet,got it all that to look forward to. Other bands who were on What's On/ So It Goes; the likes of Slaughter doing " Cranked Really High", that was a good 'un. Wreckless Eric doing "Whole Wide World", Blondie "Rip Her To Shreds" with Mr. Wilson leering at her, you couldn't blame him...Devo, doing ?, Human League doing "Being Boiled I think, Siouxsie.etc...loads of stuff. The Albertos on maybe "Rock Goes To College?... A bit where Tony Wilson's got Joy Division asking Paul Burnett from Radio 1 why bands like them can't get air-play etc. some /all of this stuff might be uploaded on the site already or released on d.v.d.s... A Certain Ratio doing a live recorded Sunday afternoon radio 1 show 1980-ish; I think the 2nd half of the show was The Undertones...rakes of good stuff...”
