Free Trade Hall
26th January 1974

I remember standing (despite it being all seats) downstairs very near the stage and it was a fantastic gig although I had seen them a few years previously at The King's Hall, Belle Vue. The Free Trade Hall gig was far superior.

I have very fond memories of this venue... it should never been allowed to close. It had superb acoustics which the MEN Arena will ever be able to re-create!

I saw many bands there over the years and still have ticket stubbs for The Who, Deep Purple, Lindisfarne, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Hawkwind, Black Sabbath, Golden Earring, Jethro Tull, Argent, Family, Wishbone Ash and Genesis (the original line up with Peter Gabriel on vocals)... just to name a few! This is for the wonderful T Rex...
