Happy Mondays, The Stone Roses

N.M.E. cover about Manc. Bands ;headline says it all .I think the bit in the top corner about The Roses might refer to the “bunch of amateurs...”gibe on the Whistletest ...Oh happy days ;or maybe that was earlier....
Anyway I’ve had these pictures in my camera for over a year waiting to put them on the site when I had the chance and time to do so.I left the papers back home because I didn’t have the weight allowance to take them on the flight with me so now, unfortunately, I can’t scan the actual articles. Another time.....unless someone’s already got them up there.
I think I figured out, through the powers of deduction and detection a la Ms. Marples ,how come I’ve got all these flyers and they don’t look too tatty on the whole .Well from about ‘77 onwards I pretty much bought a music rag every week; just different ones according to the headlines/cover but probably more N.M.E. than most. I also went record shopping most/all weekends. So I’m thinking I probably picked up flyers etc. of whatever interested me or intended to see, stick them in the record bag and then put them in with the paper when I finished with it. Well I kept all these papers and 20 years later when I came to look through all these boxes of all the stuff I’d left behind there was this stuff about Manchester, and by the using reason and this phenomenon peeps often refer to as websites and the internet, these things suddenly have a purpose ....and so it came to pass.......
God, that was boring! I nearly fell asleep typing it .If you’re still reading ,gold star for you! Right ,down to business!....

“"Amateurs!" Do you mean when the power failed on The Late Show? I don't think the Roses ever appeared on the Whistle Test.”
