Artefact

Ticket
Manchester Polytechnic Cavendish House
1980

Not sure when this was so I'm guesstimating April 1980.Killing Joke were a bit surly but they had a powerful sound.I think it was the bass that made it.That "turn to Grey" dub was a killer.before I left the U.K. I sold loads of my records for funds and although most of them I can't remember there's a handful I wish I'd kept;mostly reggae stuff, irreplaceable as I now know, but that Killing Joke 12" would be one.As it happens I did re-purchase another one about 6 months ago,"Totale's Turns" The Fall; only because round last Christmas "No Xmas for John Quays" suddenly popped back in my head and I couldn't get rid of it, so a mate saw it on E-bay and I got it;still sounds good...later on Killing Joke got a bit Gothy for me and along with probably Bauhaus and Theatre Of Hate they were the last of those sorts of bands I got into.Have to see if I've got tickets or flyers for their gigs.Oh and the stamp thing was what they stamped you with when you went to the Poly, although a bit of black biro would sometimes do the trick.
