The Change

picture showing foz and dave from original 70's punk band "the change" playing at snoopys youth club swinton....although the majority of the crowd had in fact come to see the band (around 250) there was a small number of scallys who thought it fun to throw cans etc...hence the net.

and you think it's rough now!!

“WAY...yeah it does seem crazy and probably was..it puts me in mind of the blues brothers film which it predates by a year or so...it did'nt stop everyone having fun though and makes me giggle even now...BACK OF THE NET,”

“That is me in the red t shirt looking up to Foz. My old mate John Murphy (now Professor of Law at Manchester Uni) can be seen between Dave and Foz with his Parka on! The gig was a 'stormer'!”

“hi timpo1234...great to put a name to a face, i've often wonderd who the person looking up at me was and who the lad in the parker was....i believe there is a book of photgraphs planned for snoopys youth club from this period...it's heyday....dave told me about it but i lost publisher details...there is a facebook group by the guy doing the book (a youth leader)..i think the group is called something like "snoopys youth club 79-81"...but i dont do facebook so i cant be more specific.

there is a myspace page for the change with more pictures and tunes on there www.myspace.com/thechange77

for what dave and paul did next look up comunal drop...for what i did next look up born idle...both on this site.”

“Hi Foz! It's Jason Timperley, ex-Drummer, Love Battery. I once auditioned for Borne Idle, but I was too nervous and played shite...Lol! I am now in Australia, but I shall defo check your My space page. All the best! Jason.”

“ahh jason...i should have sussed out who it was by the timpo screen name...how the devil are you....i never would have had you down as the person in the pic but then again i dont think i really knew you when i was young because i went to school in a different area.

as for the audition you did'nt play shite at all....from our point of view you seemed like you could'nt make up your mind what you wanted to do...time passed and things moved on....hope you found or find what you was looking for....all the best foz.”

“Foz, it's Rob from Shades of No One here. Yes, I remember that Snoopy's gig and the weird net thing. I left Manchester in 1980 and lost contact with nearly everyone. Funnily enough, I think I was at your Cargo recording as well.”

“hi rob you blast from the past good to hear from you....yes you was at our recording, i've even got a picture of me and you in the controll room which somehow has made it's way onto the cargo studios website..(cargostudios.co.uk)....be nice to see any shades of no one pics on this site if you have any...you should have an entry even if it's only a brief biog....so get to it :)”

“I just had a look at that Cargo picture!!! I was a bit of a slim jim there... you wouldn't recognise me now after a lifetime of pies and cheese butties. I don't have any SONO pics - maybe my brother does, I'll ask - though there is a very dodgy tape recording around somewhere. I submitted some brief info on SONO last night but it's not up yet.”
