“I went to this, God was it only a quid?..I remember he wore suede boots with tassles on which I suppose was cool then. Bridge of Sighs was a great track. He sounded very much like Jimi Hendrix without the flamboyance and Curtis Mayfield influence. This gig persuaded me to get a Stratocaster once I could afford it.”
“If I remember correctly,Trower played 2 nights Fri/Sat,support band was John Miles,Miles got a hostile reception as he was regarded as 'chart/teenybopper' status, however by the end of his set, Miles had earned 2 encores with his guitar prowess, no match for Trower though.”
“My first ever concert............John Miles was support
Played "Music" he's soon to be new single.
Robin Trower came on very late as It took ages to set up
all the lighting....I seem to remember.
Saw him 40 years later at the little Café place opposite The Free Trade Hall..........still brilliant !”
“I visited Worksop that week so I was brought there by my friend, my first concert too, right John Miles is the supporting, don't remember the details anymore but the sounds of his guitars were still in my memories! Never did see him again. ( I am still keeping the ticket! photos.app.goo.gl/8LlF5pAQJD0Tybn62)”
