From the Brookie in about 84/85. I think this girl was called Jeannie and she had a brother called Dave who was a singer in the Marquis De Sade?? One of the girls in the background is called Debbie. I think.

“This girl is Jeannie, she is Phil Ellis's sister (as well as Dave Ellis from MDS) Phil Ellis used to run Hologram Studios in Stockport and was briefly manager of my 'Ride Band'”

“In the early 70's The Brookfield was a heavy rock venue called The Spectrum. Downstairs was a cellar bar.”

“The above comments were all pretty accurate, the girl pictured was in fact Jeanie Ellis, she also had a sister called Sue (both drop dead gorgeous). Dave Ellis (of MDS) sadly is no longer with us - and big brother Phil was both in and, worked with and managed various bands on the local scene at the time. Some of which were absolutely massive abroad. The last band I knew of him being in were called "Heartbreak Force" who in a fair world should have gone a long way. Phil was also behind the filming of a documentary on KFM Radio (the pirate one) which sadly never saw the light of day...
He was later a media lecturer at Stockport College before departing to, I think, Manchester Uni to work.
Oh! and before I forget, Chris Little didn't just go in there, he actually worked on the door... In those days he was in training as a boxer...”

“Went there for quite a while, gang of us all hung out together such as, I'm not putting last names(to be fair can't remember most of them nowadays)
Me(karen) Debbie, Brenda, Carol, Marie, Angela, Linda, Ash, Sid, Stuart, Dale, Vaughan.
Also a certain drummer who went on to become very famous used to be in a lot with us (not famous then though).
We used to congregate mostly in the cellar bar, where I believe the barman was called jock but not completely sure. We all knew Dave Ellis aswell, sorry to hear he is no longer with us, good times, good friends and good nights.”

“Does anyone actually come on here anymore majority of the posts seem to be from around 2010, I hope someone still checks in, as I would like to know what happened to Ash and Dave, and if any of the people mentioned in my post are still around.
I'm actually in touch with one girl Brenda Fletcher (not in photo) but it would be amazing if I could get in touch with any of the others.”

“Just found this page after Googling 'Brookfield Pub'. I was on Mike Sweeney's Facebook page complete with loads of photos of him with his band the Salford Jets. The Salford Jets performed in the Brookfield in 1981. I was 15 years of age at the time and desperate to see the band so along with a few mates (all aged 15 or 16) we set off from Levenshulme one evening in the hope we'd get in, and we did! I can still remember it being a fantastic night, an eye opener for a 15 year old surrounded by what I will call 'rock chicks'! Whilst there we noticed that the Brookfield hosted a students disco on a Wednesday from 12 to 3pm so the following Wednesday we all wagged it from school and set off from Levenshulme on the 192 and again, got in, no questions asked! The disco was held in the basement and wasn't packed but lively, and drinking pints of cider on a school day at lunch time beat going into school and most probably felt grown up! We attended the disco a few times but I had to stop goi”
