Poster
Inspiral Carpets, The Next Step, The Jerks
The Hurricane Club
4th September 1987

The Next Step were first on the bill, although not mentioned on the poster. Three of the four acts on the bill featured Inspiral Carpets past, present or future, as Martyn Walsh was in The Next Step, using the pink bass he used on his first TV appearance with Inspiral Carpets as a singerless foursome between Ste Holt and David Swift leaving and Tom Hingley joining, and Chris Goodwin was drumming for The Jerks. Clint Boon was selling these posters and the Inspiral Carpets' 'Cow' demo from a little table inside, I think the poster was a quid. It was in perfect condition at the time.

“Yes I did! Had to leave during the Spacemen 3's set to get my lift! Don't remember them sat down, do remember that they seemed to have the house lights on while they were playing for quite some time, or was I just out of it? Good to see you alive and well too!”

“i saw spacemen 3 a few times - the international 1 being my favourite gig (they were supporting someone but i can'rremember who) - all of them and the audience sat cross legged on the floor. i remember the first two singles being for sale at the merch stall near the door on the way out. what a band!”
