More Fool You
2009

The band More Fool You really began life after a conversion between Steve Jones, Daz Pritchard and Gary Morris who, at the time were members of Higzy's band vanishing point.
The conversation centred around the idea of putting a heavily dub influenced band together, a few months down the line a rehearsal was arranged at a Studio in Stockport, it wasnt long before the band got a set together and started to gig.
Steve, Daz and Gary were joined By two keyboard players Shaun Roache and Dave Grindrod, with Shauns then Girlfriend Nikki Cunningham helping out with the design of a backdrop for the band.
Drummer Daz Pritchard came up with the name 'More Fool You' which was the name of a race horse.

Shortly into the bands early life Dave Grindrod left leaving Shaun Roache to expand on some of his own ideas.
It was never an easy ride for More Fool You, after some arguing Gaz Morris was kicked out of the band and was replaced by Ian Fletcher, Gary eventually re-joined the band along with multi-talented singing skills of Desnya Lashimba.
Sometime down the line keyboard player Shaun Roache was kicked out of the band following some issues with a member of Community charge, he was replaced by a guy who had worked with Mark E Smiths band the fall.

More fool You were probably one of the best live bands around during the early to mid 90s.
99% of the songs were written by Steve Jones the bass player whose musical influences were Killing Joke, Jah Wobble, PIL, Scientist, the Mad Proffessor and some of the work of Adrian Sherwoods On-U-Sound System.
Sean Roache also significantly added to the More Fool You sound, This combined with Gary Morris's Hendrix influenced playing gave the band a very different sound compared to a lot of what was coming out of Manchester at the time.

During the bands half decade together they rehearsed very regularly which made for very tight live performances.

Labeling the More Fool Sound was always going to be a difficult task as their music rested uneasily between Dub reggae, metallic punk which was underpinned by Korg Synths and special effects.

But, all good things come to an end, there were many unresolved personal issues within the band, this coupled with a lack of motivation led to the split of More Fool You in 1995.

Steve Jones continues to write dub reggae/dubstep and Djs his own work, as for the rest of the band they have not been seen for over a decade.

Steve would like to wish all former members of More Fool You the best of luck in whatever they are doing.
