“Equipped with the rare gift of x-ray vision, Sam can often be seen staring through the ceilings of basement dives such as The Roadhouse. On this occasion she witnessed a street robbery on Newton Street, as we played our set, and immediately ran off stage and out of the venue to reprimand the robber, retrieve the stolen handbag and return it to it's owner, before being refused re-entry to the venue on account of not wearing the correct footwear. It's a good job Charlie Mingus was in the crowd, or we'd 've finished the set bass-less.......though, somehow, a fretless double-bass didn't really suit our sound.
