“I was the first person to use the room upstairs in The Star And Garter back in the early 1980s...I use to have R n R nights on and put live bands on. The room then use to hold about 60 70 people and the bar use to be on the left as you walked in the door...it use to have the old wallpaper from the 60s still up. The owners sold up and whent to live in Malta....at the time it took me 5 times to ask them to let me use the room...whats it for thay said i said R n R nights there was a big...oooh well mmm let use think about it ring us back and after a few calls i got the room...long live The Star And Gater..”
