Advert
Born Idle
Witchwood
16th August 2001

Advert for the witchwood showing "born idle" playing support to GBH..also on the bill "streetrat" who became "spitting dummies" after this gig.
all the bands on this bill were first class and GBH were a fine bunch of chaps...which is a pleasant change to some name bands we have played with.

“Colin from GBH was whizzed to fuck this night! When we got there, we were supposed (despite the billing on the pic) to open the show, but after soundchecking, Streetrat asked if they could go on before us because we were too powerful. I remember standing at the bar with Alex (drummer from Streetrat, now landlord at the Thatched House in Stockport) and discussing how good GBH were. Then suddenly Jock broke a string on his guitar and my guitar appeared onstage and was duly played! I was a bit naffed by this, and went to remonstrate but was appeased by the GBH crew with a few beers. Afterwards, Jock bought me several more beers to say 'ta' for the lend.....wouldn't you think a band of GBH's standard would have at least 1 spare guitar!!!”

“Good to see Jock payed you back with a few jars, Al.......I suppose that makes up for all the malt whisky and 'Jamaican roll ups' he kept blagging off me on the night! ;-)

GBH were shit hot, as always.”
