“83 is about right. Steve & Helen Bracewell were "Private Road". Steve was the main DJ & I think he may have deejayed the Roxy Room at Pips at some point prior. I know he mentored me as a DJ around this time and I think Dave Booth before me. Sometimes I got to warm up early on here but Keith (Caidh?) (last name "Mathews" I think) also played. Fridays were more of a mod/scooter/hard times denim look/soul night there. Mani was a regular for sure Fridays. Maybe Ian Brown too. Saturdays a mix of everything I think.”

“Hi Martin, I remember you! I was going out with Stephen's brother Carl, and later married him. (We split up years ago but I'm still called Bracewell.)
Stephen sadly died in 1986, and I haven't heard from Caidh for many years. There was also Deborah who I think did some DJing and went round with the request list (were you not going out with her?)

So sad when steve died , lost a really good friend, never known anyone with so much energy . Does anyone know what happended to Helen, Caidh, or malcolm. Re the dry ice , i remember us making a dry ice machine in steves flat out a converted bread bin ready for the clubs that night, and turning up with the pack of dry ice in the back of helen moggie van . ah the glamour”
