“what's with the rather strict 'no flyers on the night' rule?”

“they have always been like that..the only reason i can think of is to make sure their regulars dont get in for £1 cheaper than the door price..no loyalty bonus which is sad and no flyers available from anyone other than the bands...of course we used to ignore it and stop people on thr street and ask if they wanted to get in cheaper which did us both a favour..we did get caught once but nanaged to blag them that they was our mates and had aranged to meet us”

“We blew the Vibrators apart! And Charlie Harper asked me about a song we played...saying he knew it, but it was a fantastic version that we'd played. I had to tell him it was one of our own (Flowers, Chocolates, & Multiple Bruising) and he said it was fantastic! Gool ol' Charlie.”

“yeah one of the audience members actually thanked me for making the vibrators play better....also brian barnes (SUBS/SLUTCH) asked if we would like to headline the gig we had coming up with slutch at the thatched house....we said no as it was billed as them headlineing....did'nt quite understand the request at the time.”

“Slutch (or rather Brian) turned up at the Thatched and just assumed they could use our backline. It took some grovelling (& beer, & a tshirt) before I decided to let 'em! They were poor that night, and people were cat-calling them and shouting for us to get back onstage. Not the 1st or last time we upstaged "bigger" bands.”
