I was first turned on to Martin Denny and his special brand of Hawaiin Exotica music by Les Clark a manchester based Bass player -who had visited Hawaii as part of a cruise ship band
in the 50 s.His house had many artifacts from the Pacific cruises,an d i believe there were quite a few bands performing Hawaiin music in MCR in the 40 s 50 s and 60 s .may be even at the Tropicana- whos got any photoes of the Tropicana? (done out in the pacific Tiki style)
