“I remember the gigs at the Bamboo & Alma Lodge.
I played in a band with Ian Garner before this, and I've known Steve Henshaw & his brothers all these years. Still see Steve, lives in Bredbury as I do.
“It is with deep regret I inform all friends of Ken Shelmerdine that he passed away in St Annes' Hospice on Saturday the 15th of June 2013. He was a great friend and superb musician. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. RIP Ken. Jeff Bickerton”
