Bicycle Thieves
Band On The Wall
14th March 1977

Flyer from the magazine New Manchester Review's popular Monday night promotions at the Band on the Wall. At the time the BOTW was primarily a jazz venue run by local musician Steve Morris. This month features many local favourites - John Cooper Clarke [early in his career] supporting blues trio Gags. Other local favourites Harpoon supported by Mark Stone's flamenco guitar and Bicycle Thieves with an Alberto Y Los Trios Paranoias offshoot. As a member of Bicycle Thieves I always enjoyed playing this venue. The only downside was an annoying clicking sound which came through the PA system every time an electronically measured pint of Boddingtons was poured, spoiling our live recordings from this era.
