“For fans of Brainchild, Tuesday night at The Wagon And Horses, Moorside, was the place to be. Technically, Brainchild were brilliant. Especially guitarist Alan Garratt, who could literally play anything on his cherry red 335. Sad that they never gained great recognition. They were talented enough to deserve it. A great band. Many happy memories!”
“I knew two of the band members and remember the appearance on new faces very well. i have tried to get in touch with one of the guys i knew but the other one lives in america ( i think )”
I am trying to find a copy of their appearance on new faces, this is my last shot at trying to find a copy, as ive contacted al the other acts who appeared on this episode. ITV wiped the tape from the archives, so unless somebody was pash enough to have owned a VCR (probably a phillips 1500) and taped the show for them, or ATV give them a copy, then i fear the tape is gone forever, such a shame! Please see following lnks for the search for the missing tape!
My Dad appeared on the same episode and never got to see the show when it was broadcast on the 8th February, May be you knew somebody who could have recorded it?
“They did a copy of 'Eye Level' recorded with Mickie Most reggae style. It was rumoured that Alan was the secret guitarist on a lot of those RAK singles, mud, showaddy waddy etc. They chose a shite song for New Faces.”
