This is not a video as such, but an audio recording of a gig. Between 1980 and 1982 I lived at 211 Withington Road, Whalley Range with The Cocktail Party, the band I was in. The house was a gloriously ramshackle 7 bedroom, 3 storey (plus cellar) Victorian detached house and we had a rehearsal room and recording room in the cellar. Carmel and Bee Vamp, good friends of ours, used the rehearsal room too. The photos in this video show Jim Paris, Paul Ablett, Carmel and Carmel's sister waiting for the van to arrive to take us all down to Birmingham for a gig at the Fighting Cocks pub. I recorded the gig on a Walkman, so not a soundboard recording. However it captures a great live performance which, until now, has remained unheard on cassette amongst the many items in my 'archive'.....it's not hoarding!
