Linder Sterling

Linder Sterling was one of the Big Four artists/designers linked to Manchester's music scene to pass through Manchester School of Art alongside Saville, Garrett and Adler during the latter half of the 70's. Many of her early iconic collage works were created in the art school studios while she was still a student.
Probably her most famous piece from that era was the image she produced for the Buzzcocks single Orgasm Addict.

She was the singer of Ludus, a post-punk band she formed with guitarist Arthur Kadmon.

Above, a still of one of the performers striking a pose in Sterling's dance creation "The Ultimate Form" inspired by Barbara Hepworth's monumental sculpture The Family of Man. It was choreographed by Kenneth Tindall (Northern Ballet) and Sterling herself. It featured costumes by Pam Hogg and music by Stuart McCullum.
