Cities In The Park
2023

This little film from Rafe Conn was a spin-off from the Alan Wise project.

Sound and seating contractor Chris Hewitt, also a serious collector and archivist, wanted to say that Alan was not the only dealer you had to chase for your money back when.

Factory were just as bad. And it was Factory, says Chris, who left Alan picking up the tabs for the Cities In The Park event, a 1991 fund-raiser for Martin Hannett's widow which caused a bit of muttering by failing to raise any money. On the other hand, it happened, and a lot of people had a good time.

Chris supplied the PA system for an early Wise Moves gig, The Dickies at The Russell in 1979, and worked with Alan on Cities In The Park and much more. Calls him "the Captain Beefheart of promoters".
