I was the guitarist in RBWP, and it came as a shock to learn of the death of John Snelson, who worked his magic with the bagpipes in RBWP for a couple of years, before moving on to The Suns of Arqa. He was a top muso and a delight to play alongside, he always got a fantastic reaction from the audience, especially the finale, when he would walk through the audience from the back, playing all the way, then join us onstage for the big finish. I will just take a breather to gather my thoughts and come back and post a proper entry for one of Manchester's most unusual bands! I will have to search through my archives and try and piece together something that makes sense, as it didn't always at the time. I hope to post a track here, featuring John, from our cassette tape album "The Zog Tapes"
I was in and out of bands around Manchester, Stockport and Macclesfield for 40 years, and am still playing occasionally.

Another classic was a song inspired by a chance encounter with a drunk in a fish and chip shop in Little Hulton called Chip Ahoy. The song was called 'Give us a doner (and stick it on a barm).
I also remember a friend bringing his cat to the packed pub one Sunday night, not sure if it ever got home, maybe it's still there.”
