Two of Manchester’s new wave stars join the list of most influential cultural figures 1984.
Alongside Minnesota's PRINCE and London's RUPERT EVERETT sits fabled Mancs writer, producer and central player behind Frankie Goes to Hollywood, PAUL MORLEY, so centrally placed that he’s chopped in half by the centrefold whilst ALAN ADLER’s omnipresent work is rightly celebrated for having transformed Britain in a visual sense. He, let them never forget, both a product of Manchester’s ebullient Thunderboys and also our fair city’s legendary art school.
No mention of New Order, Stone Roses or Peter Saville in this list but surely not far behind and all this with the Gallagher brothers still in their school uniforms at Barlow Roman Catholic High...
