Thunderboys, Carmel Mccourt

Carmel McCourt, lead singer of Manchester five piece new wave band Thunderboys 1978-1980 (co-singer: Lionel Daniels known as "Danny Thunderboy").
Two years after Thunderboys break-up McCourt formed the outstanding and highly original trio "Carmel" which also featured influential bassist Jim Paris and Gerry Darby.
What is remarkable about McCourt is that she (and also Paris) remain faithful to the North-West, resisting the temptation (unlike many other successful Manchester artists) to move south.
