So this is a pretty cool story. This young chap, Melvyn Tan Ban Eng sent his piano recordings with a friend to England and Yehundi Menhuhin (the BIGGEST of the big deals at the time) somehow got wind of them. He was so impressed that he invited the young Melvyn Tang to study in England at his own elite music training school in Surrey. This led to other awesome things for the young man. Including what I am sure was the highlight of his career, performing with some Northern School of Music students at the Newton Hall in Hyde for the local rotary club. Students names are Alison Furniss and Michael Hancock.
