Artefact

Letter
Walter Carroll, Ida Carroll, Geoffrey Griffiths
Northern School Of Music (NSM)
1939

Griff has had a good evening reading the Matthay School of Music magazine by the fire with his pipe. He's enjoyed the poem and the article about "Music in Oxford." He commends the school on "such an imposing list of teachers" including Professor T.H. Pear (in the study with the lead pipe).
He updates her on his working days and is pleased her father's birthday was a smash. He relays the impressed comments of a naturalist (a client at the travel office with a fine selection of insects, moths and butterflies), who was very impressed with Walter's stamina.
It was so hot he thought of sleeping nude "but modesty forbade lest I should be so discovered at 7:30 in the morning."
