Griff was late to a concert of the Matthay School of Music, "Braham literally pushed me into the concert hall when I was ready and willing to await the applause. Not a modest entry for I believe Miss Braymayer was several bars ahead of me!" He enjoyed it though, as well as her father's speech, and Gertrude Riall "scintillated", Ida played bass very well, and some cellos "added a touch of zest."
Ashton is dull for him but it meant that the office is the cleanest it's ever been.
