Griff writes to Ida that he's restless and absentminded, nearly walking into a cyclist on the way home.
"DAMN it - the warning has just gone. I am truly sorry for you," regarding her Air Raid Precaution Warden duties. Nevertheless he hopes she still gets to bed at a decent time. He has some doubts about the quality of next Tuesday's concert.
