an early design idea for the 808 state album "Don Solaris"
by sheffield s "Designers Republic" who were just up the block
from Fon Studio where most of the album was be ing recorded.
Designers Republic were responsable for a lot of Warp records artwork, Warp were origenaly upstairs from FON studios.
Shefield had a right littel creativive industries thing going on mid 90s,supported by their labour council. As a MCR band we found it frustrating that we had to travel every day across the Pennines
for a descent studio with a descent rate. Our previous album was recorded in Liverpool. Availability was an issue in MCR 6yhnStudios there just was nt much choice mid 90s .
