Artefact
This is a programme from the Miles Davis Quintet first British tour (12 dates) - from the Free Trade Hall gig. The following night the band played Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. My uncle and my late dad attended both nights and said Miles was on top form with his back to the audience. Selections played from the 'Kind of Blue' album although no Coltrane or Bill Evans present on these dates.
Davis, Dylan and Sex Pistols - the Free Trade Hall building certainly has a great musical history.
Did this gig influence the Manchester jazzers forming groups like the Pistols did with the local kids? Maybe someone will know.
