Other
Band On The Wall
1983

Lots of people probably received one of these...sorry about that. Like a lot of venues we received piles of demos daily - most I'm afraid to say were pretty awful. In twenty years probably only a handful of bands (if that) ever got a gig from an unsolicited demo. I hate to dishearten bands but that is the case. Occasionally it meant that some one was missed (see Oasis Demo tape) who went on to great(er) things. Thankfully now we have myspace so the piles of thousands of demos we still have is not getting any bigger.

The letter reads:

Dear

Thankyou for sending us the tape of / information about your band . We have given it our full consideration but I'm afraid that we are not able to offer the band any work at the moment. We wish you the best of luck with it in the future.

Best wishes

Yours faithfully,

“Somewhere I have a similar letter from Factory Records, on the lines of:

"We'd like to say we've given your tape our full consideration.

But we haven't."”
