I remember the Birthday Party played at Cloud 9 just off Cross St, also the Hacienda. Anywhere else?

I'll dig out my signed copy of his novel "And The Ass Saw The Angel" from a reading/signing he did at Waterstone's Deansgate in 89. Looking at him then, you wouldn't have thought he'd have lived this long!
