While negotiating travel expenses during WW2, Griff remarks to Ida that "the recent scare has made those who can travel more shy than ever." Working at a travel agents during the war was tricky business it seems.
They seem to want to arrange a rendezvous on a train? A discrete get together involving delicate coughs and signalling down rows.
