Artefact

Letter
Ida Carroll, Geoffrey Griffiths
1941

This letter is tagged with a note reading "the transport nerd" by Ida, and quite appropriately too. He makes up for it when complimenting her dress as the latest game of rummy. "As you know, Dear Ida, you are well worth looking at and last night for example your pretty dress with the short sleeves allowed a most pleasing view of your arms."
Some budgeting complacency from the man who works the books, "I am very careless with odd coppers (i.e. coins of the Realm of Small Denomination, or value, not the large and handsome human kind so popular with certain girls who possess hair that is neither strictly blonde nor strictly brunette.)" I have no idea what that means, mind. Any takers?
