Fae Jones talks about the "peculiar" building of the Northern School of Music.
Heather: What do you remember of the building and the space?
Fae: It was peculiar really. I mean you know that it has been a shop, so…
H: Was it clothing or hosiery or something… shoes…
F: I’m not sure what it was. But you went into a… into a hallway, these two offices - one was on one side one was on the other, as I remember it - and then there was a dark staircase and you went upstairs for the first layer of studios and that was always where I had my lesson with Beatrice Rollins which was a piano lesson. But there was a lot of moving around quickly on a Saturday from room to room because then you would have a theory. Well it was called rudiments then of music.
