Artefact
Sbilts got the chance to play as part of "The Damo Suzuki Network" on the Ex-Can vocalists "Never Ending Tour" which is indeed never ending and takes place all over the world all the time. Arranged via" tinternet" he plays with a different collection of musicians he has not previously met, at every performance, You get an invite to play a couple of weeks before he hits town. You then meet the other members of the band and loosely work out some stuff over which he vocalises. (pretty much how he started with Can after Mr Mooney left them mid-tour in the 70's). He did 2 sets on the night with 2 different line-ups. The one I was in comprised ,Ollie Wright on Bass, Dan Sims,Denny Hilton and a guy called Phil on guitars Seamus O'Kane on Drums and percussion and little old me triggering samples and arpeggios via an MC303. The Synth was mixed too low by a guitar loving soundman (according to Sinuf Mood who took the pic and was in the audience). Mr Mood was mistaken for ex-Can Bassist Holger Czukay by an impressionable young girl who was fooled by his 70's Porn Star Chic. One to tell the Grandparents about. Sadly I was too overawed to converse with Damo but he seemed a nice chap. Never seen any of the band since..Funny old World
