“not really - it used to be good but i thought city life became more of an estate agent mag to be honest, and it really only catered for the south manchester set in the end. i'm not saying it didn't used to be a good read- in the late 80s early 90s it was great.”
“Mmm. I see where your coming from Mat. I put up with the endless property pullouts on the assumption that the ad money was bankrolling the mag. Yes, it did become rather Chorlton/Didsbury-centric and over emphasised a Selfridges lifestyle which isn't my own.

I'm also sure that the gig scene, theatre etc are carrying on regardless. But speaking as someone on the performance poetry scene - poetry, jazz, blues, folk - those scenes I'm sure really miss City Life. I'd be really keen to see something take its place.”
